Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be undergraduate students from institutions offering bachelor’s degrees, primarily from the Asia region.
- Must have completed at least one year of undergraduate studies by the program’s start.
- Should have at least one semester or quarter remaining after the program ends and should not graduate before the program begins.
- Must have a strong academic record and an interest in pursuing a research degree, such as a Ph.D.
- English proficiency is required, with minimum test scores as follows:
- TOEFL iBT: 72
- IELTS: 5.5 overall band
- Cambridge English FCE
- TOEIC: 1095 total (785 for L&R and 310 for S&W)

Application Process
- Register on the TAO portal with your full legal name.
- Locate the UTokyo Amgen Scholars Program in the portal and begin the application.
- Upload required documents.
- Request two recommendation letters through TAO, with one from a faculty member.
- Complete all sections; no edits are allowed after submission.
- Applications are reviewed from February to mid-March, with notifications sent via TAO and email.
