TechWomen Leadership Program in the USA 2025 | Fully Funded

The TechWomen Leadership Program 2025 is an initiative designed to uplift and empower women globally by creating pathways for them to thrive in the tech industry with enhanced skills, confidence, and motivation. This fully-funded leadership experience in the USA seeks to develop generations of influential female leaders from around the world, fostering their growth in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The program acknowledges the immense contributions women make across various sectors and aims to continue breaking barriers, highlighting the critical role of women in the technology industry.

The TechWomen Leadership Established in 2011, the TechWomen Emerging Leaders Program aligns with the United Nations’ goals of achieving gender equality. This groundbreaking initiative was launched by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and is managed by the Institute of International Education (IIE). The program’s primary mission is to provide access to cutting-edge resources, research opportunities, and specialized training, equipping participants with the knowledge and tools to excel in their careers and projects. Through this Washington, D.C., and San Francisco-based 5-week program, the focus is on the professional development of women, giving them a robust platform to enhance their capabilities.

Over its 14-year history, the TechWomen program has consistently empowered women from STEM fields, driving progress towards reducing gender disparities in technology. To date, over 1,000 women from diverse countries have completed the program, bringing positive changes to their communities by applying the advanced skills they acquired. Participants engage in a variety of workshops, hands-on projects, and mentorship experiences led by top professionals from leading global companies. These immersive experiences allow women to gain critical insights, build expertise, and implement impactful solutions back in their home countries.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the TechWomen Leadership Program 2025, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a STEM-related field.
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent education.
  • Eligibility to obtain a J-1 visa for the USA.
  • Non-U.S. citizenship (applicants should not hold a U.S. immigrant visa).
  • Proficiency in English language skills.
  • Candidates must be from eligible countries (listed below).
