The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Program 2024-25 offers an exceptional chance for international students to enroll in one of Hungary’s prestigious institutions. Sponsored by the Hungarian Government, this scholarship program aims to drive global development, attract students from around the world, and strengthen partnerships between Hungarian universities and talented international scholars. This fully-funded scholarship for international students in Europe 2025 brings hope for students striving to excel amid current global challenges.

This scholarship covers full- and part-time study options across various degree levels, including non-degree programs, one-tier degrees, as well as bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs. With studies available in 31 Hungarian higher education institutions, the program includes courses in English and other languages. Additionally, students may opt for a one-year preparatory Hungarian language course to support further studies in Hungarian.

The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship empowers motivated students to advance their careers and sharpen their skills within an international learning environment. Students benefit from world-class mentorship, building a foundation that serves both their academic and professional goals.

Managed by Hungary’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and coordinated by the Tempus Public Foundation, the program is based on bilateral agreements between Hungary and partner countries. Its reach grows yearly; in 2021, nearly 500,000 applications were submitted, with over 4,700 students awarded scholarships.

Scholarship Benefits 

For bachelor’s, master’s, one-tier master’s, non-degree programs, and postgraduate specialist courses:

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants from eligible countries may apply.
  • For a bachelor’s degree, a secondary school certificate is required.
  • Candidates should have a strong academic record.
  • For a master’s degree, a bachelor’s degree is required.
  • For a doctoral program, a master’s degree is required.
  • For one-tier or non-degree programs, proof of student status from the home university is needed.
  • Candidates must be nominated by the responsible authorities of their home country.

How to Apply 

  1. Submit an online application through the Tempus Public Foundation website.
  2. Provide all personal information, including name, address, birth date, country, etc.
  3. Complete all necessary sections for your chosen level.
  4. Save and submit your application online.
  5. Apply through your home country’s Sending Partner after completing the Tempus application.
  6. Accept the application statement in the online system.
