The Tomorrow’s Leaders Program, funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI), offers fully-funded scholarships for students from low-income communities in Egypt and Lebanon. These students represent the cultural and regional diversity of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). The program works with top American-style universities in Cairo and Beirut to provide students with the skills and knowledge needed to become strong leaders. Participants will be part of a vibrant community, receiving support such as mentorship and personal development opportunities.
Through this fully-funded scholarship, students can study at respected liberal arts universities like the American University of Beirut, the American University in Cairo, and the Lebanese American University. This helps them develop critical thinking skills and learn how to find creative solutions to challenges in their communities, the MENA region, and the world. Participants will also apply what they learn in internships, civic engagement projects, and other courses while excelling academically.
Before the scholarship begins, Tomorrow’s Leaders will host information sessions with their university partners. These events will give applicants all the details they need to choose the right university and prepare their applications. Attendees will meet members of the Tomorrow’s Leaders team, who will explain the program’s requirements, application process, university life, and more. Applicants will also learn about academic programs, campus safety, student clubs, sports, and facilities.
Undergraduate students will have the chance to study for a semester in the U.S., where they can experience American culture and expand their worldview. After completing the MEPI Tomorrow’s Leaders scholarship, participants will join a network of over 1,000 alumni who are leaders in the Middle East and North Africa. The scholarship covers full tuition, accommodation, health insurance, entry visa, a monthly stipend, a laptop, textbook allowance, and two round-trip tickets to their home country each year. Students will also benefit from career workshops, internships, and guidance from university faculty.
