Scholarship Provision

  • Your tuition and university fees will be paid (within set limits).
  • Your international travel expenses will be covered.
  • You’ll get a monthly stipend to help with housing and living costs.
  • You’ll receive money for books and supplies.

Eligibility & Criteria for Qualification

  • You must be a citizen of Romania.
  • You cannot apply if you have a green card or if you have citizenship in both Romania and the United States.
  • You need to have at least a Bachelor’s degree.
  • If you’re a BA student, you can only apply if you’re in your last year of undergraduate studies.
  • You must be good at English.
  • If you want to apply for Law, you must have a degree in Law already.
  • Clinical students cannot apply.
  • If you’re a Ph.D. student, you must be in the early stages of your Ph.D. and be enrolled in a Romanian or European Ph.D. program when you apply.

Documents Needed

  • Translated transcripts or diplomas.
  • Three letters of recommendation.
  • Result of the English proficiency test (only for the finalists).

How to Apply

  • Go online to https://apply.iie.org/ffsp2025/ and fill out the application form.
  • If you’re a research student, make sure to mention your preferences and reasons in your online application.
  • If you’re a Ph.D. student, your research proposal should match your ongoing Ph.D. work and connect with situations back home.
  • Choose the professor you’d like to work with for your research and explain why you want to work with them.
  • Ask your referees to submit their reference letters directly through the online application form. They can also send official paper copies via email to office@fulbright.ro.
