About the CERN OPENLAB

The CERN OPENLAB Summer Student Program provides a fantastic opportunity for students specializing in Computer Science, IT, and related fields to engage in advanced projects at one of the world’s leading scientific institutions. Over the course of 9 weeks, participants will:

Eligibility Requirements

To apply for the CERN OPENLAB Summer Student Program, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  1. Be enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program with a strong focus on computing, IT, or a related discipline.
  2. Have completed at least three years of full-time university-level studies by summer 2025.
  3. Students who will graduate in May 2025 are eligible to apply.
  4. Maintain student status throughout the duration of the internship (i.e., must be enrolled at a university during the program).
  5. Applicants should not have previously worked at CERN.
  6. The program welcomes applications from students of all nationalities.
