The Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin (HZB) is inviting undergraduate students from around the world to join their prestigious eight-week Summer Student Program in Berlin, Germany. This program gives 20 students the chance to dive into cutting-edge research under the guidance of top HZB scientists in fields like solar energy, photovoltaics, chemical energy, quantum materials, and more.
What’s the program about?
Participants will work on exciting projects in modern laboratories, exploring advanced energy technologies and sustainable power solutions. This is more than just a learning experience—it’s an opportunity to be part of the global effort to tackle climate change.
During the internship, students will also get a tour of the BESSY II accelerator, where they can see how electrons are stored and accelerated using innovative machines. Additionally, workshops on science communication and entrepreneurship will help students develop important skills. The program ends with an engaging poster presentation where participants share their work.

Who Can Apply?
To qualify for the program, you must:
- Be an undergraduate student in fields like Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Mathematics, Life Sciences, Environmental Sciences, or similar areas.
- Have completed at least four semesters of your degree.
- Be enrolled in your current university during the program.
- Have strong English communication skills.
- Provide a letter of recommendation.
