The International Internship Pilot Program (IIPP), organized by the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC), offers a paid internship in Taiwan. It aims to attract international talent by giving students the opportunity to explore Taiwan’s strengths in Science and Technology. The main goals of this program are to advance key scientific research areas more rapidly, expand the global scientific network, improve technical skills, and lay a foundation for industrial growth. This is a fantastic chance for individuals passionate about Science and Technology who want to expand their knowledge on a global scale.
Interns will take part in relevant research and learning activities based on the fields of study and projects they are assigned to. During this paid research internship, they will receive full support to help them adjust to Taiwan and interact with local students. After completing up to 3 months in the program, some interns may choose to continue their studies or start careers in Taiwan, gaining firsthand experience of the country’s work environment. This internship also helps Taiwan strengthen its human resources in key scientific areas by recruiting new talent.
The NSTC international internship program seeks to attract scientific researchers from around the world. Through this initiative, international students can connect with researchers from both the Taiwanese government and private sector. Bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD students will have the chance to learn more about Taiwan’s scientific achievements and the strengths of Silicon Island. This effort will boost Taiwan’s industrial capabilities, create global networking opportunities, and enrich the talent pool. Various divisions of the Science and Technology Policy Research and Information Center (STPI) will connect international students and researchers with academic and research institutions in Taiwan.
As Taiwan’s main government think tank for science and technology policy, STPI acts as a key platform for uniting Taiwan’s scientific communities. It collects, compiles, and distributes information on science and technology to promote innovation, competitiveness, sustainable development, and societal well-being. STPI has integrated numerous national technology-related information services and aims to become a global center for policy research, backed by its strong academic foundation and research expertise.
