Scholarship Provision

  • Tuition Fee Waiver: International students don’t have to pay any tuition fees.
  • Monthly Stipend: MS students get 140,000 Won per month, while PhD students get 295,000 Won per month.
  • Meal Allowance: Both MS and PhD students receive a meal allowance of 100,000 Won if they complete at least 9 credits in the previous semester.
  • International Student Allowance: MS and PhD students get an allowance of 120,000 Won if they maintain a GPA of 3 or higher out of 4.5 in the previous semester.

Eligibility & Criteria for Qualification

To get the GIST Scholarship 2024 in South Korea:

  • You need to have or expect to have a final degree before joining GIST.
  • Your bachelor’s degree should be like a Korean one.
  • You must be from another country.
  • You must be good at English.

Documents Needed

  • Official degrees and transcripts. It’s better if they have an Apostille, but notarized copies are okay too.
  • Two letters of recommendation. They must be signed and stamped by the people recommending you. They don’t need to send the letters separately.
  • An official English language test report. You can use TOEFL (BT) with a score of 80, TOEFL (PBT) with a score of 550, IELTS with a score of 6.5, TOEIC with a score of 750, or NEW TEPS with a score of 327. If you don’t get your test result in time, your home university can give you a professional English language proficiency certificate.
  • A copy of your passport.

How to Apply 

  • Go online and find the application for the GIST South Korea scholarship.
  • Fill out the application form completely.
  • If you can’t pay the matriculation fee, ask the dean or head of your department or college to recommend waiving it.
  • Make sure to fill in all parts of the online application form. If something doesn’t apply to you, write “NA” instead of leaving it blank.
