Eligibility & Criteria for Qualification
To be considered for the CRI Irvington Postdoctoral Fellowship Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Work in areas directly related to immunology or cancer immunology. The proposed research project should address immunology with relevance to cancer.
- Hold a doctoral degree at the time of award activation and conduct research under a sponsor with a formal appointment at the host institution.
- Applicants with over 5 years of postdoctoral experience are ineligible, except for M.D. applicants who should exclude residency years from this calculation.
- Only in rare cases will applicants who have spent 3 or more years in a sponsor’s lab by the fellowship start date be considered.
- The fellowship can be carried out in the United States or abroad, but must be at a non-profit institution. There are no citizenship restrictions.
- Only one fellow per sponsor may apply per application round, and faculty sponsors may not have more than three CRI-supported fellows simultaneously.
