- Duration: Depends on the selected program.

Eligibility & Selection Criteria:
- Applicants must maintain a strong academic record, typically achieving a minimum average of 70% at the undergraduate level and 75% at the graduate level.
- Candidates should be full-time undergraduate or graduate students from any faculty who aspire to engage in an international experience in Israel. This may include participating in a minimally-paid or volunteer international co-op work placement, a volunteer placement, an academic exchange, or a study term related to academic requirements.
- International students with a valid Canadian study permit, enrolled full-time, and subject to international tuition fees, are eligible to apply.
- International students must be enrolled full-time and subject to international tuition fees.
- Typically awarded to students enrolled in research-based programs (thesis or major research paper).
- Normally reserved for students entering the first term of their program (term 1.0).
- Applicants must demonstrate academic excellence as per the Faculty’s criteria.
- Students must maintain satisfactory academic progress in their program and not have any outstanding probationary admission requirements.
- This award may be granted in addition to other internal or external scholarships (e.g., UW Graduate Scholarship, OGS, etc). Please note: scholarships differ from sponsorships – refer to the next point.
- Generally, students should not simultaneously receive sponsorship from foreign governments or agencies (e.g., China Scholarship Council, Libyan sponsorship, etc), or be fully or partially self-funded beyond the Faculty’s minimum support levels.
- Students previously enrolled under the existing IMSA program are ineligible for nomination for an IMAE. However, students who have previously received an IMSA for a completed master’s degree may be nominated for an IMAE.
- Students are automatically considered for this award based on their admission application. Each department and/or Faculty will establish their own
- internal selection process to choose recipients based on the eligibility criteria and available allocations.
- Faculties may establish stricter eligibility criteria if deemed appropriate.
Scholarship Allowance
- The David Johnston–Lebovic Foundation International Experience Awards offer:
- Up to $2,500 for a one-term study experience
- Between $2,500 and $5,000 for a one-term work or volunteer experience
- Up to $10,000 for a two-term work or volunteer experience
- The International Master’s Award of Excellence provides $2,500 per term for a maximum of 6 terms.

For the David Johnston–Lebovic Foundation International Experience Award Scholarship:
- Apply for admission to an undergraduate or graduate degree program at the university.
- Once admitted, access the scholarship application on the university’s forms page.
- Attach a personal statement as instructed on the application form.
- Ensure you provide evidence of meeting the minimum English language requirements for admission.
For the International Master’s Award of Excellence Scholarship:
- Students are automatically considered for this award upon submitting their application for admission. No separate scholarship application is necessary.
- Departments or Faculties will select and nominate eligible students for the scholarship.
